Lumpia Shack is a Filipino-INSPIRED (non-traditional!)  lumpia <LOOM-pya> stand that creates delicious fried and fresh lumpia, or spring rolls. Born from our love of Filipino food, we want to add our own personal touch to one of the culture’s most popular snacks by mixing traditional flavors with locally-sourced and responsibly-produced ingredients. This is our take on the food we grew up eating!

Our menu changes weekly as we incorporate seasonal ingredients purchased locally at farmer’s markets (we shop at the Union Square Greenmarket 3 times a week!) and from other high quality food purveyors. We take pride in supporting local farms and strive to do so as much as possible, as well as trying to purchase vegetables, meat, & other produce that are free from pesticides, antibiotics, & hormones.

Our menu was created by Neil Syham, a graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education who has had over 6 years experience in fine dining, formerly with Tides Seafood (LES), Gramercy Park Hotel, as a corporate chef for a small startup firm, and most recently with the executive dining group for JPMorgan. With Neil’s Filipino-Chinese background and classic culinary training, he focuses on Asian flavor profiles and loves to use a spectrum of sweet, salty, sour and hot components in his food.

Supporting local farms and businesses are important to us. Our main providers include: Philips Farm, Lani’s Farm, Norwich Meadows, Berried Treasures, PE & DD Fish, Madura Farm, Tremblay Honey, Oak Grove, Keith’s Farm, 2 Guys from Woodbridge, Queens Co Farm, and The Meat Hook/Brooklyn Kitchen.

Lumpia Shack is an idea and creation that has been years in the making– a product of our cultural roots blended with our experience growing up in America– and inspired by the many meals made by and shared with our families and friends. We strive to provide the best food possible for our community in Brooklyn and NYC and everyone willing to taste our food.

Lumpia Shack Snackbar at Berg’n Beer Hall is located at 899 Bergen St, Brooklyn, NY. Open Tues – Thurs 11am – 10pm. Fri 11am – 12pm, Sat 10am – 12PM and Sun 10am – 10pm
